Prosthodontics Olympics

Over a month ago, Mike competed with his class in the annual Prothodontics Olympics. He won his event and set a school record for time. The olympics have been held for many years at the school. Because of the win Mike came home with a sweet 30 GB video ipod. It makes the 1 hour bus ride much more enjoyable. To learn more about the olympics go to:

Elania kept breaking the arms off her sunglasses. Mike found her a multipack at the dollarstore and planned to give her one at a time as they broke. But she saw the pack and decided to try all of them on at once.

Elania is fascinated with the ride-on toys at the mall. We let her choose between all of the them which one she wanted to ride and she chose the firetruck.

Here is Elania doing a craft at a library activity group. Elania likes the puppet shows but when the singing and dancing starts, she often tries to escape to the back of the room to the craft tables because she enjoys doing them so much.

This is a picture where Elania looks a lot like her Daddy as a child. We put this up because of Grandma Smith's comment on the horse picture.

Elania has two obsessions: her soother and Dora. She likes wearing her backpack around the house and carrying around the jumbo Dora that Grandma Q. sent her. When daddy comes home the first thing Elania says is, "Dora? daddy? Yum yums?" Guess who introduced Dora to her? Tico the squirrel is her current favourite. Daddy didn't think Dora was too big of an obsession until today in Sacrament meeting she was crying for Dora during a talk about not letting your kids watch too much t.v.

At Cole Harbour Place near our house (the same rec center that Sidney Crosby grew up playing at) there is a kiddy pool with a little slide. Elania loves it and only wants to go down the slide repeatedly for the full 2 hour public swim. At home she started trying to use a makeshift slide out of the couch cushion leaned up against the couch. Daddy broke down and found her this toy slide which she went up and down 40 or 50 times straight until she collapsed on the floor ready for bed!

Elania loves bubbles which she calls "biiiig pop!" She is especially impressed when daddy blows big ones like this. Lately, she's started popping the bubbles by trying to bite them.

Elania really likes to put on and take off bracelets but we only have a few so... she started using hair elastics instead. Sometimes she'll leave these on through the night!

This is Elania with her little ride-on horse (from Grandma and Grandpa S. for Christmas) which is just her size. She's pretty good at getting on and off now.
